How organizations work on Opentribe

Organizations

Organizations on Opentribe represent teams, DAOs, projects, and companies that post opportunities for builders in the Polkadot ecosystem.

Overview

Organizations can:

  • Post Opportunities - Create bounties, grants, and RFPs
  • Manage Teams - Invite members with different roles
  • Review Submissions - Evaluate work and select winners
  • Track Payments - Record and verify on-chain payments
  • Build Reputation - Establish trust with the builder community

Each user can create up to 5 organizations. Organizations can have unlimited members with different permission levels.

Creating an Organization

Go to Dashboard → Organizations and click "Create Organization"

Provide your organization information:

  • Name: Your organization's display name
  • Handle: Unique identifier (e.g., @moonbeam)
  • Description: What your organization does
  • Logo: Upload your logo (PNG, JPG, SVG)
  • Website: Your main website URL

Connect your social presence:

  • Twitter/X
  • Discord
  • Telegram
  • GitHub

Set up your organization preferences:

  • Default payment tokens
  • Notification settings
  • Public/private visibility

Team Roles & Permissions

Organizations have three role levels:

Owner

  • Full organization control
  • Can delete organization
  • Can transfer ownership
  • All admin permissions

Admin

  • Post and manage opportunities
  • Invite/remove members
  • Review submissions
  • Record payments
  • Edit organization settings
  • Cannot delete org or change owner

Member

  • Post opportunities
  • Review submissions
  • Comment on submissions
  • View organization analytics
  • Cannot manage team or settings

Only organization owners can delete an organization or transfer ownership. Choose your initial owner carefully.

Managing Your Team

Inviting Members

  1. Go to Organization Settings → Team
  2. Click "Invite Member"
  3. Enter email address
  4. Select role (Admin or Member)
  5. Add optional message
  6. Send invitation

The invitee will receive an email with a link to join.

Managing Members

From the Team page, you can:

  • View all members and their roles
  • Change member roles
  • Remove members
  • View member activity
  • Resend invitations

Organization Dashboard

Your organization dashboard provides comprehensive insights:

  • Pending Review: Submissions awaiting evaluation
